THE CHALLENGE:
Hitachi’s Santa Clara campus needed quiet, private spaces for focused work and small-group collaboration without permanent construction. As an enterprise campus, the deployment had to meet accessibility requirements, satisfy building code, and receive formal sign-off from the City of Santa Clara. These requirements go well beyond what most pod vendors offer, which typically stop at delivery.
WHAT ALCOVE DEPLOYED:
Alcove deployed two models. The Aura Duo, a two-person pod with smart environment controls, gave teams acoustically private space for one-on-ones, calls, and focused collaboration on the open floor. The Element ADA pod, Alcove’s ADA-compliant office pod, ensured the deployment was accessible to all employees and fully code-compliant.
Alcove supported the project end to end: producing complete architectural drawings for Hitachi’s facilities team and city reviewers, partnering directly with Hitachi’s building and permitting team through the review cycle, and carrying the project through to final inspection and full certification by the City of Santa Clara.
